Information for patients
A provisional text
This text is provisional. No lawyer has reviewed it yet.
A final version, written by a lawyer, replaces it before the data of a first real patient is processed.
What Doctalis does
Your practice uses Doctalis to document and administer its work: notes, letters, reports and your record. Your practice is responsible for your data. Doctalis holds it for the practice.
The practitioner reviews and validates every document drafted. Doctalis makes no diagnosis and decides nothing about your care.
Recording a consultation
A conversation is recorded only once those present have agreed. You may refuse.
The recording is transcribed, and its audio deleted as soon as its transcript is written. If the transcription fails, the audio is kept for a new attempt 7 days from the first failure, then deleted within the following day; a new attempt does not extend that period. A recording made without a network waits, encrypted, on the practitioner’s device until it is sent; never sent, it is erased there the first time Doctalis opens after 7 days without activity. Something deleted can no longer be restored from the backups after 30 days.
Where your data is
Your data is stored in Switzerland, its backups included. The AI that transcribes and drafts processes it only in Switzerland or the European Union. The AI vendors never use the data they process to train a model, under their terms. Doctalis deletes a recording’s audio as soon as its transcript is written. The transcription’s vendor offers no way to delete a result on its side: how long it keeps one is confirmed in writing before the first patient.
Your record is kept 20 years from your last consultation.
Your rights
You may ask your practice for a copy of your record, for a correction or for its erasure. Your practice answers these requests.
