Create or import patients

In Patients, “New patient” asks for a first and last name; everything else is optional. If a patient with the same name and date of birth exists, they are shown first, with “Open the existing record” or “Create anyway”: Doctalis never merges two patients on its own. An assistant chooses in “For” the practitioner who will treat them.

“Import a list” reads a CSV or Excel export from your software. Before anything is imported, the screen says how many patients are ready, how many may be duplicates and how many lines lack a first or last name; the duplicates wait for your decision one by one, and incomplete lines are listed for correction.

An imported patient has no practitioner until one of them opens their record. A record is archived from its “⋯” menu and found again with the “Archived” filter.
